Grade 5 | Session 1: Patterns and Gears & Hack a Piezo; SCES, Mon PM


This engaging class teaches robotics, programming and coding concepts to children in Grade 5.  8 weeks of fun-themed, STEM lessons that are designed to engage both boys AND girls with multiple kinds of robots.   A new challenge is presented each week and students spend most of the class engaged in creating hands-on solutions.  Maximum 12 students per class.

Patterns and Gears:  Students will explore patterns in everything from gear ratios to programming switches while completing interesting challenges such as Sumo Wrestling.  4 weeks.

Class dates: 1/14, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11

Hack a Piezo:  Students will code solutions to open-ended problems using multiple sensor control and creative design.  Try coding out of a maze, or barrel racing inside a Mobius strip.  4 weeks.
